This is where we will be discussing how to promote BTBCF and the Fiesta's. Any ideas as crazy as you might think they are, please post them on this thread. The old committee fizzled out, but lets make this one and Beyond The Beach prosper. I have asked John to delete 2 names off the old list and I have added a few, with one pending (Giselle Andrews) Gregg's wife. The 3 of you in the D.R. are used for contacts for pick ups, let us know if it is working or how we could make it better, anything you can think of.
Hope to be hearing from you soon, I am sending out an email to all tomorrow to confirm your participation in this group.
Thanks all.
Regards, Chris.

Could you all please update your profile, by going to summary, then edit profile and under notifications, please check off the drop down bar to receive messages when a new post happens. You can choose from instant or daily. This will really speed up the process and less emails from me saying "NEW POST"
Thanks, Everyone....

Here is a post from Rick Shepherd one of our members who has not registered yet, please reply with any thoughts. Could this be done online when we see the finished product?
Rick Shepherd: I'm going to try and work on some artwork I've got in mind to combine the beauty of the DR., and Northern Ontario Canada. It's just an idea I have that I want to try. I'm working my butt off at the moment but I have a day off on Sunday. When would be a good time to post the results if I can? I have a lot of photos as well I can share if anyone is interested to make a donation. I think maybe a few dollars can be made this way. Just a thought.

Chris - perhaps we could make an event out of this on the Facebook page under the heading of "Events" - or just post photos of what Rick is referring to - again on the Facebook group as photos cannot be published here on the Pro-boards. If we then go ahead with an on line silent auction on the facebook page, that would work - Bryan - thoughts ?? John Basford Director Beyond the Beach Children’s Foundation

Yeah, I remember Spunky (from Debbies forum) as well. As I recall, his first name was Ron. I always thought he was the one that took over Debbies. He claimed 'not'. I have no idea how to contact him now. I'll go back through old emails etc and see if I can find something.

Thank Bob. And John, yes in the case of pictures and photos they would have to be posted on the FB page. I still want the picture less posts here though for recognition and possible other thoughts from other members.

I am posting this here as a reminder, because a lot of us are around my age.......lol
I am posting below what we ask of our Committee members - I can tell you right now, it's not really a lot, and this will not take up a large amount of your time, unless you want it to – however, your involvement is Essential to our Success.
If, after reading the following, you have any questions or would like to join the Committee, please contact myself or any of the directors and we would be pleased to address any questions that you may have.
Committee Objectives 1) Your ideas, thoughts and suggestions are vital to enable our Foundation to achieve our Mission & Vision for the future. 2) Spread the word about the Foundation and what we do. 3) Encourage friends, family and fellow forum posters to attend the Annual Fiesta🥳 4) Solicit donations from local businesses and friends for the Annual Fiesta for the silent auction. 5) For those of you who are lucky to be located in the Dominican Republic, help us expand the drop off and delivery options for tourists with material donations. Ways in which you can show your involvement 1) Add “Beyond The Beach Children’s Foundation Committee Member” to your online forums signature block. 2) Follow our various Social Media accounts (if you have a corresponding account) and share with your followers. 3) Participate and share your ideas with other Committee members through our online forum. Other We welcome Committee members who are involved with other charitable organizations and would not expect you to shy away from them. In fact, we have worked with other charities with which we share common goals. By accepting our offer we do not expect you to attend the Annual Fiesta, if you are not able to attend that is understandable. If you are able to attend, the Fiesta host and your fellow members would more than appreciate your assistance, with the set up and preparation of the event, to meet your fellow members and of course, bid on the silent auction and enjoy a great mea

Here is a start to what we can do to promote BTBCF and raise funds, as I stated earlier on Fb, I am in a bit of a chemo fog this morning so will ADD as YOU MEMBERS can do. Thanks guys.
1) If you repeat at the same resort yearly ask the GM if he would like to donate a week of all inclusive to BTBCF. There would have to time restraints put in place by him or her such as Easter, Christmas, etc. It costs them next to nothing and they would get a lot of advertising. Unfortunately I cannot find a link to the Dream I think this was the last year we had one after Majestic Colonial stopped supporting it. This would not include airfare, but in the past BTB has donated $1000.00 to ward it. www.facebook.com/groups/2336231937/search/?query=dream%20vacation%20giveaway&epa=SEARCH_BOX
2) Used Eye glasses, Ruth can chime in here. I did it for years before Sears went under.
3) Take back your empties to the Beer Store when things are back to the “New normal”
4) Hold a Garage sale. I tagged onto my neighbors in 2015, maybe 20 household items and 100’s of quality gold balls and over 500 CD”s. Everything priced $5-15.00. I took a picture on Katherine Sanchez our first scholarship recipient standing with me at a meet and greet in POP,( You all have seen it) and when I told buyer where the money was going and what BTB did the and the comment was mostly “keep the change “. That was from a $20.00. Some even donated more. One lady had tears in her eyes as she gave me another $10.00 bill. I raised enough money to buy all the food Nenita and I cooked for the Fiesta in Barry’s Bay that year. Another $$$$ winner.
5) Now that we have 4 members in The Maritimes, could you hold a mini Fiesta like Giselle did in 2009? Same question applies now that we have two in B.C......Remember it's like spaghetti if it sticks to the wall it's done.
Of course this all applies when the Covid 19 virus has been controlled or partially eliminated, and things are back to the new normal

Bob, was Spunky not Rob Belyea from the East Coast, he is on the Committee list? Could be. I don't think I ever heard his last name, just his username. But, I believe he was from the East coast, so perhaps .... Why not ask him outright?
